I’m from sticker bushes in the grass. I’m from Cutlass and regals. Hopeful, humorous and I can smell the rain before it falls.

I’m from green wild onions sticking up from the grass. I am from family reunions, rodeos, and whiskey. From Allen and Fultz. I’m from holidays and special occasions at Grandpa and Grandma’s house, where all the cousins stayed the summer at Unc’s house.

From don’t be running in and out of the house and do as I say do, not as I do. I’m from Sunday school and church service on Sunday, Bible study on Wednesday,  usher rehearsal on Tuesday, and choir practice on Thursday. 

I’m from Oklahoma, smoked meats on the grill, baked beans, and potato salad.

From the sight of my grandfather lost to more troubling times in America.  Where my paternal last name is of German descent, but I have to do 23 and me ( for entertainment purposes only) to determine my lineage.

From where everyone has an old photo album tucked away and occasionally can easily share memories of the good ole days with new technology and to social media.

Where the pictures and video increase in value when we lose those we love and care about, and those memories bring us peace, love , laughs, and tears frequently.

I am from where the name and legacy of my little brother Warren William Thomas Fultz will live on forever!
